The history behind this song

Medicine has failed. Every remedy, every procedure, every prayer—useless against the plague's tide. So I turn to what was forbidden. In the abandoned library, I find ancient volumes written in blood and bone. Alchemical formulas. Dark rituals. Names of entities that dwell between life and death. The priests would burn me for this heresy. But I am desperate. If science cannot stop this plague, then perhaps forces beyond our understanding can. Tonight, I speak the first forbidden words, and something stirs in the darkness beyond.

What to Expect. Epic symphonic power metal with adventurous dramatic energy Fast-paced technical guitar riffs and double-kick drumming Soaring operatic vocals leading the narrative Full orchestral arrangement with strings, brass, and choir High-energy transformation from scholar to dark practitioner

The Story. This is the turning point. After walking through the city of corpses, witnessing countless deaths, performing useless medieval treatments, the plague doctor reaches breaking point. Conventional medicine has proven worthless. Desperate for any solution, they turn to forbidden knowledge—ancient texts on alchemy, occult rituals, and dark forces that exist beyond mortal understanding. In a hidden library, by candlelight, they read words that should never be spoken. Latin incantations. Sacred geometry promising power over life and death. Names of entities unknown. They know this is heresy—the Church would burn them alive for even reading these texts. But when every patient dies the same, when "medicine is just a game," what choice remains? This is the moment of crossing. The doctor speaks the first forbidden words aloud, reaching across the boundary between the natural and supernatural. Something answers. Something stirs. From this point forward, the plague doctor's journey leaves the purely physical realm and enters the dark supernatural.

"The Forbidden Text" marks the pivotal moment where the Plague Doctor's Journal shifts from historical horror to supernatural darkness. After witnessing apocalyptic death on every scale, the doctor makes a choice that will define the rest of their existence: to seek power beyond mortal medicine. This came out more epic and adventurous than I initially envisioned—think Nightwish or Rhapsody of Fire rather than dark occult atmosphere. But that energy actually works perfectly for this moment. It's not a quiet, sinister discovery; it's a dramatic, desperate leap into the unknown. The doctor isn't creeping toward darkness—they're running toward it, driven by the memory of every patient they couldn't save. The fast tempo and soaring vocals capture that sense of urgency and determination. This is someone who has watched an entire city die and is willing to cross any line, break any sacred rule, if it means finding real power. The orchestral grandeur matches the scale of what they're attempting—not just learning a spell, but fundamentally changing their relationship with death itself. The first words leave their lips, and nothing will ever be the same.
