The myth behind this song

In Basque mythology, the Basajaun is the Lord of the Woods — a giant, hairy guardian of the mountain forests. The villagers feared him. They built walls against him. They never knew he was the reason their children survived the winters.

This is his side of the story. The Basajaun was the first farmer, the first miller, the first to work the forge — and he let humanity steal all of it, because teaching them was always the point. The shepherd Martin Txiki crept into his field and ran off with a shirt full of seeds, and the Basajaun let him go. Centuries later, the same people who learned everything from him started calling him a monster who eats children.

Inspired by Basque traditional folk — the trikitixa, the pandero, the mountain pipes — this is a standalone single, a step outside the usual Neural Grooves territory. Not an album, not a series. Just one song for a figure who deserved a better ending than being forgotten.
