Mythology, folklore and legend
Standalone Songs
Songs that stand alone for now: single stories of gods, monsters and legends, with no album around them yet.
The myth behind this album
Songs that do not have an album yet. Each is a single story of a god, a monster or a legend, and each stands on its own.
They range across the world. There is the Norse saga of "Godkiller's Path" and its companion "Wife of the World Ender"; the Celtic gods of "The Woven Branches," the goddess Danu in "The Veins of The Earth" and the sun god of "Belenus - The Shining One"; Hecate's first-person declaration in "She Who Walks in Shadow"; the ferryman Charon's reflections in "The Ferryman's Toll"; Inanna's descent in "Queen of Heaven and Earth"; the West African trickster of "Anansi Weaves the Web"; the Basque guardian of the woods in "The One Who Taught Us"; and "A God in Exile," a tale of apotheosis through extreme suffering.
When a song finds an album, it moves there.
Wife of the World Ender
"Wife of the World Ender"
“Wife of the World-Ender” is a sorrowful, Nordic folk ballad told from the perspective of Faye—Kratos’ wife and the quiet architect of his fate.
