The myth, as it's usually told
Loki
Loki is the shapeshifter of Norse myth, both ally and enemy of the gods. When a giant's stallion threatened to win the giant a bargain with Asgard, Loki became a mare, lured the stallion away, and later gave birth to Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse. He is also the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir and the world serpent.
