The myth behind this song

In the frozen northern forests, something ancient stalks. Not for meat. Not for survival. For the hunger that never ends.

Experience the Algonquian legend of the Wendigo told through dark chamber folk and Nordic Noir - haunting cello and piano, vocal fry whispers, field recordings of howling wind and crunching snow. This is horror ballad storytelling where psychological dread builds through intimate acoustic darkness, not aggression.

The Legend of the Wendigo:

In Algonquian tradition, the Wendigo represents humanity's ultimate taboo - cannibalism. It's not just a monster; it's the transformation from human to something else entirely. When a person breaks the sacred law and consumes human flesh, they don't just commit a crime - they become the Wendigo, cursed with eternal, insatiable hunger.

The Wendigo grows taller with each victim it consumes, yet becomes thinner, more skeletal, more desperate. It can never be full. The hunger intensifies with every kill. It's the embodiment of greed, addiction, and the loss of humanity - forever starving, forever hunting, forever empty.

In northern winters, when starvation threatened communities, the fear wasn't just hunger itself - it was what hunger might drive someone to become.
