The myth behind this song

The bells are ringing. The chains are rattling. Krampus walks tonight, and he's coming for the wicked.

Experience the Germanic legend of Krampus through industrial folk metal - 100% electric guitars with palm-muted chugs, driving rock drums, and rattling chains and sleigh bells as loud secondary percussion. This is theatrical hard rock meets Alpine folklore with Neue Deutsche Härte energy (think Rammstein meets Christmas horror), delivering punitive stomping marches and darkly festive aggression.

The Legend of Krampus:

In Alpine regions of Austria, Bavaria, and Southern Germany, December 5th is Krampusnacht - Krampus Night. While St. Nicholas rewards good children on December 6th, Krampus arrives the night before to punish the wicked.

Krampus is a horned, cloven-hoofed demon covered in dark fur. He carries chains to bind children and birch rods (Ruten) to beat them. His wicker basket (Butte) is for carrying away the worst offenders - not to their parents, but to his lair, or according to some tales, straight to Hell.

The tradition predates Christianity, rooted in pagan Alpine winter spirits. When Christianity arrived, Krampus was recast as St. Nicholas's dark companion - the punishment to balance the reward, fear to balance faith.

Modern Alpine communities still celebrate Krampuslauf - parades where masked figures in elaborate Krampus costumes run through streets with torches, chains, and bells, terrorizing spectators in a tradition that's equal parts horror and celebration.
