The story behind this song
We Were Always Light is the sacred exhale of The Shape You Abandoned — an ambient gothic hymn whispered across eternity. With soft, layered vocals and vast synth atmospheres, this track floats beyond pain, beyond striving, into something ancient and whole.
It doesn’t cry for awakening. It remembers that we never truly left.
“Not fallen... only folded. You are still whole. Again, and once again... always.”
