The myth, as it's usually told
The Furies
The Furies, or Erinyes, were born from the blood of the castrated sky god Ouranos. They hunt down those who murder their own kin, and nothing stops them. Their most famous pursuit is Orestes, who killed his mother Clytemnestra to avenge his father; they hounded him across Greece until Athena put him on trial (Aeschylus, the Oresteia).
What the song hears
The reframe
The Furies are not a curse that falls on you. They are three women climbing toward your door.
