The myth, as it's usually told

Prometheus

Prometheus, a Titan, stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. Zeus chained him to a rock in the Caucasus and sent an eagle to eat his liver. Every night the liver grew back, and every day the eagle returned, until Heracles finally shot the bird and broke the chains.

What the song hears

The reframe

No apology, no regret. Chained to the rock, he would do it again, and he wants Zeus to know it.
