The Legend of Morozko:

Deep in Russian winter forests lives Morozko - the spirit of frost, winter's ancient force given form. He tests mortals to reveal their true nature.

The tale tells of two sisters sent into the frozen forest. The humble sister greets Morozko with respect despite deadly cold. He rewards her with furs and gold. The arrogant sister demands comfort and curses the frost. Morozko freezes her solid.

Morozko doesn't punish wickedness - he allows it to destroy itself. The cold reveals truth. Winter shows who you really are.
