The Norse Mythology: Baldr's death is Norse mythology's most tragic tale. Despite his mother Frigg's attempts to protect him by making all things swear not to harm him, she overlooked the humble mistletoe. Loki crafted a dart from this plant and guided the blind god Höðr's hand to throw it. When Baldr fell, the gods were devastated. They pleaded with Hel to release him, but she demanded that all things in the world weep for Baldr. Only one being refused (Loki in disguise), sealing Baldr's fate in the underworld. This tragedy triggers the events leading directly to Ragnarök.
Do you think Baldr's death was truly inevitable?
