When Zeus and his brothers divided the world, Hades drew the underworld. He rules the dead, rarely leaves his kingdom, and does not chase mortals the way his brothers do. His most famous act is taking Persephone as his queen, but he is also the god who let Orpheus try, and who keeps every bargain he makes.
