The myth, as it's usually told
Anubis, the jackal-headed god, embalmed the dead and guided them to judgment. In the Hall of the Two Truths, the heart of the deceased was weighed against the feather of Ma'at, the goddess of truth and order. A heart that balanced passed on to the afterlife; a heart heavier than the feather was devoured by Ammit, and its owner ceased to exist.
What the song hears
He does not judge anyone. He only holds the scale, and the scale is perfectly fair.
