Epic Folk Metal In progress
Celtic Warriors
The people who fought back: Boudica and the Iceni against Rome, and the ones still to come.
The history behind this album
The people who fought back. Celtic Warriors tells the stories of those who stood against empire, in fierce, high-energy folk metal.
The first song, "Boudica's Fury," follows the queen of the Iceni. In 60 to 61 CE, after Rome seized her husband's kingdom and brutalised her and her daughters, Boudica united the British tribes and led some 200,000 warriors in the most devastating uprising Rome ever faced in Britain. Three Roman cities burned, among them Colchester, London and St. Albans, and though she was defeated in the end, her fury shook an empire.
More warriors are still to come.
